Good descriptions of early Sydney and everyday life–nice to have a bit of history spliced into the story here and there. Girl of Shadows is the second book in a series of four following a group of girls convicted in London and transported to Sydney, Australia. Vicious underworld queen Bella Jackson holds the girls’ futures in the palm of her hand, biding her time until she exacts payment for what she knows about their misdeeds.
